The effective dimension of complete samples of galaxies in the Virgo
supercluster and in a region between the Virgo and Coma superclusters
has been derived. In the intersupercluster region, the effective
dimension is about 1.3, and for the Virgo supercluster itself, a
dimension of 1.9 is found.
