Knowledge of the contribution of various perturbations to coordinate corrections is essential in predicting the motion of artificial earth satellites. Here, formulas are obtained for estimating the errors of the spherical coordinates of a geostationary satellite resulting from the failure to consider some of the geopotential harmonics. A calculation example is given.
