Prior studies have suggested that star-forming galaxies in clusters are overluminous in the radio. This effect can be seen by deviations from the far infrared (FIR) - radio correlation, and is believed to arise from ram pressure compression of the cluster galaxies' interstellar gas as they move through the intracluster medium (ICM). We have used the NVSS to compile a comprehensive database of star-forming galaxies in nearby Abell clusters. Coupled with IRAS data, we evaluate the FIR-radio correlation for the cluster galaxies. As star-forming galaxies have been identified over large areas in each cluster, we are able to investigate radial trends in the FIR-radio correlation - from the central regions where the ICM is most important to the outer regions where it has little effect. We report on the results of this test, and the implications for the ram pressure compression model.
