We report near-IR (H, K) spectra of NGC 1275, which are characterized by the exceptionally strong Fe II 1.64 micron and H2 1-0 S(1) lines with faint H I Br-gamma. This is the first galaxy which is known to show NGC 6240-like near-IR spectra. The H2 emission is thermalized at T of about 1700 K. The UV-pumped fluorescent component contributes less than 12 percent of the total 1-0 S(1) luminosity. An unresolved core of Fe II and H2 emission and a possibly extended H2 emission envelope were seen. We examine possible excitation sources of these lines.
