Fe II spectra are observed in nebulae, quasars, supernovae, galaxies, and other astrophysical objects. Improved line ratios and rate coefficients are reported for the diagnostics of IF spectra of Fe II based on extensive new calculations of collision strengths employing a 38-state close-coupling expansion. Results pertaining to all 16 lowest levels and 120 transitions are presented. Brighter IR line flux for a given iron abundance is predicted due to the fact that the present rates are generally higher than results of previous efforts by significant factors. These rates are likely to affect the derived densities, temperatures, and abundances in a wide range of IR sources.
