The evolution of the emission line intensities in planetary nebulae during their whole lifetime was predicted using computations of static photoionization models of expanding planetary nebulae with nuclei of masses 0.56 solar mass and 0.64 solar mass, assumed to follow the Schoenberner (1979, 1983) evolutionary tracks. It is shown that the main parameter governing this evolution is the mass of the central star, with other parameters being the gas density distribution and the chemical composition. The computed line intensities were compared to line intensities observed in a sample of planetary nebulae obtained from literature.
