Be Stars, X-Ray Sources, X-Ray Binaries, Stars: Individual (He 3-640)
Scientific paper
We have performed spectroscopic observations of the peculiar Be star He 3-640, the suggested optical counterpart of the hard X-ray source A 1118-61, soon after the January 1992 outburst. Our data show that changes have taken place in the blue spectral region when compared to similar data obtained in 1990, thus comfirming the association between the two objects. They also show the presence of material expanding at a velocity ≃1350 km/s. A strong night-to-night spectral variability is also present.
