It is argued that the altitude of radio emission region depends on pulsar period approximately as . The emission originates near the polar cap in millisecond pulsars and a few hundred km away in longer period pulsars. The magnetic field in the emission region seems to be about 106 G independent of the pulsar period and characteristic age.
