Based on measurements by EGRET on board CGRO high energy γ-ray emission (> 50 MeV) from 14 extragalactic sources has been reported since its launch in April 1991 until July 1992. All these sources are radio loud, have a compact core, are highly variable and a large fraction of them shows superluminal expansion. We present the results of radio observations in 1991 and in 1992 for sources accessible to the Effelsberg 100-m and the IRAM 30-m telescopes and compare the present state with previous light curves. As a main result we note for most sources enhanced radio emission with a delay up to several months relative to the EGRET detection when they are most likely at a high level of activity in the γ-ray range. Exceptions from this rule are the strongest radio sources in the sample, 3C273 and 3C279, with atypical characteristics. Our results constrain current models of γ-ray emission processes in AGN.
