In 1981 a SETI search on nearby solar type stars was begun: in all some 344 stellar targets. Previous reports to IAF Congresses have presented work in progress. This paper presents the summary of observations which detected no narrowband signal from another technology but did detect several unsuspected sources of terrestrial technology and provided an excellent opportunity to evaluate the statistical nature of the observatory noise environment.
