Cosmology: Robertson-Walker Metric, Early Universe: Cosmic Strings
Scientific paper
By considering a homogeneous and isotropic universe the author considers the constraints imposed upon cosmic strings and matter in the early universe. His simple analysis demonstrates that the string tension must vanish and the growth of the scale factor is power-like in time and is stable to bulk viscosity perturbations for matter represented by ultra-relativistic particles, stiff matter and dust as the matter component.
