The Monte Carlo method is used to model electron transport in N2, with calculations performed for electrons with initial energies of 0.1-10 keV. The structure of energy spectra of electrons fluxes at different distances from the source is analyzed. The contribution of ionization-cascade electrons to the total differential flux is evaluated. The presence of a characteristic discontinuity at 20-30 eV is established in the soft region of the energy spectrum (10-100 eV).
