A new formula proposed to take into account the phase effect on observations of Venus with the Danjon astrolabe is presented. The purpose of the formula is to determine the magnitude at which the visible terminator fails to coincide with the true one and is shifted toward the photocenter via a blurring of the true terminator by a bright-sky background. The formula is applied to data processing of Venus observations obtained in Simeiz during 1981-1988.
