A technique for calculating low-thrust trajectories is presented. The approach is based on using a momentum-regulated trajectory as a valid approximation of LTT. To avert difficulties with some trajectories (such as Earth-Mars rendezvous trajectories), the LTT is treated as a function of inverse acceleration and a series expansion of the reciprocal acceleration is used. The article concentrates on finding a useful first approximation and then proceeding from there to arrive at an optimum LTT without exorbitant effort. A program is elaborated in FORTRAN IV. Printout data and graphical illustrations are provided.
