Attention is given to the use of detectors made from enriched material for double beta research emphasizing the derivation of neutrino-mass limits with enriched HP Ge detectors. The paper uses the Heidelberg-Moscow experiment as an example of the detection possibilities that are presently available. The technologies are shown to facilitate studies of the neutrino mass, and the developments can also help in the search for dark matter and in the use of high-resolution c-ray spectroscopy. The present LEP limits for spin-interacting WIMPs could be extended by using Ge-73 detectors for the dark matter searches. The use of Ge-70 detectors in satellites is expected to be valuable for detections with low levels of b-background.
