Instabilities in SN1987A are briefly discussed. The effects of decay of
Ni-56 and Co-56 on the observed velocities, thermal luminosity, and
gamma and X-ray fluxes are emphasized. The possibility is addressed that
a new neutron star is the source of the nickel bubble observed in
SN1987A.
