The Round-Trip Delta-V (RTDV) plot technique provides a quick and systematic method for initiating trajectory design for interplanetary round-trip missions. Features in typical RTDV plots are discussed for earth-Mars-earth missions, and sensitivities of such missions to launch date, stay time, and parking orbit characteristics are demonstrated. Midcourse maneuvers and free return constraint are included. Examples are also given for earth-Venus-earth and earth-Jupiter-earth missions.
