The peculiar pre-main-sequence object Elias 1 in the Taurus dark cloud was observed with an infrared speckle interferometer using a 32 element linear array detector. From the observed visibility curves, it is found that an asymmetric sub-arcsec structure consisting of a core and a halo component in both the K and the L bands. The halo is highly flattened and elongated in the east-west direction. The characteristic half widths in this direction are 40 AU and 100 AU in the K and the L bands, respectively. It is interpreted that the halo component represents scattered light by the dust of a nearly edge-on circumstellar disk.
