We are members of a Key Project team for NASA's Space Interferometer Mission (SIM PlanetQuest). Our project is aimed at determining the relative and absolute ages of metal-poor field subgiants and over twenty globular clusters using high-precision parallaxes to determine accurate distances. SIM PlanetQuest is a ``targeted mission", and the stars in the globular clusters will require extensive observing time with the satellite. We wish to use the MMT and Hectochelle to monitor radial velocities in three epochs for a large number of potential targets. Any velocity variables will be removed from the SIM target list since binary stars will compromise the very high precision parallaxes needed to determine the absolute ages of clusters to +/- 5%. The spectra will also be used to provide tests of a very large grid of synthetic spectra being computed in anticipation of the Kepler mission, and which will enable us to derive [Fe/H] and [(alpha)/Fe] for literally tens of thousands of F, G, and K dwarfs. The Hectochelle spectra of globular cluster giants will also be valuable for a thorough study of line broadening in post-main sequence stars as a function of metallicity, luminosity/gravity, and temperature.
