Stars: Neutron, Equation Of State, Relativity

Scientific paper

Neutron stars are studied in the frame work of the relativistic mean field theory of interacting nucleons, hyperons, and mesons. Within the hadronic freedom the cores of the neutron stars are found to be dominated by hyperons. The influence of the hyperon coupling constants on the transition of a neutron star to a hyperon star is also investigated. It is found that the transition density gets its minimum value when the ratio of hyperon coupling constant to nucleon's takes value of 0.65. The presence of the hyperons makes the equation of state of neutron star soften. The maximum mass of the neutron star is calculated and the value lies in the range of the observed results.
