I describe and review the capabilities of the Waves (SWAVES) investigation on the two STEREO spacecraft to be flown by NASA in late 2005. I present the specificities of the radio instrumentation and discuss the scientific objectives of SWAVES: to triangulate and track coronal mass ejection-driven (CME-driven) shocks from the corona to 1 AU; to map the in situ structure of CME-driven shocks and flare electron beams; to probe the density and IMF structure of the heliosphere before and after CMEs by triangulating and tracking the ubiquitous solar type III bursts. I will show a recent example of a stereoscopic study of solar radio emissions with the Wind and Ulysses spacecraft which nicely demonstrates proof of concept for SWAVES. I will also discuss the planned availability and timeliness of the SWAVES data.
