We present measurements of the shape of intermediate redshift galaxy clusters drawn from the Las Campanas Distant Cluster Survey (Gonzales et al., 2001). By stacking drift-scan data of 1073 clusters and poor groups in the redshift range 0.3 >= z <= 1.0, we determine the mean properties of the sample, and constrain the tri-axiality and relative orientations (the so-called alignment effect) of the brightest cluster galaxy, the 2nd-order galaxies and the underlying low-surface brightness light. We examine the behavior of these properties as functions of cluster richness, and compare their evolution with redshift to hierachical simulations.
