Using SOHO/MDI magnetic synoptic charts and corresponding vector magnetic field data taken by ground-based telescopes, we generate vector field synoptic charts for global force-free field extrapolation. Evidence has shown significant difference between the force-free field and the potential field, especially the shape and connectivity in active regions, demonstrating additional clues of non-potentiality and topology configuration. We explore relationship of those information and active regions, roles of active regions in evolution of coronal structure, and possible association of active regions and CMEs. This work was supported by NASA grant NAG5-3077 at Stanford University.
