The membership of some magnetic Ap stars in the Hyades and UMa superclusters is re-investigated using new highly accurate proper motions most of which have recently become available within the work on the Fifth Fundamental Catalogue, FK5 (Fricke et al. 1988). The improved absolute magnitudes derived from individual distance moduli for probable cluster members have made it possible to locate these Ap stars in the HR diagram with much more confidence than previously and to make thus more reliable statements on their evolutionary state.
