The possible detection of cosmic rays in the shell of supernova SN 1987A using observations of gamma, neutrino, and neutron emissions is discussed. It is shown that gamma-emission with an energy greater than about 1 TeV observed with ground-based Cerenkov telescopes has the highest sensitivity to cosmic rays in the SN shell. In this manner, it is possible to detect cosmic rays in the shell if their generation power (luminosity) is at least 10 to the 39th erg/s. These observations can be used to determine whether or not acceleration inside the SN shells is the main mechanism of cosmic ray acceleration in the Galaxy.
