Photographic image-tube spectra of the cores of 12 globular clusters have been obtained at a wavelength resolution of 2.5 Å in the interval λλ3400 - 4500 Å. The photographic integrated spectra have been supplemented by integrated CCD spectra of a few clusters and by long-slit CCD and 2D-Frutti spectra. It is found that, whereas ten of the 12 clusters have Hδ equivalent widths of similar strength, two clusters, M30 = NGC 7099 and NGC 4147, have abnormally strong Hδ. Moreover, the Ca II H + Hɛ feature in those two clusters is abnormally strong relative to Ca K when compared with the other clusters. On the other hand, in an index that measures the Balmer discontinuity, neither cluster is found to be unusual. The stellar content in the cores of M30 and NGC 4147 is analyzed via the Hδ profiles and Balmer discontinuity indices in those clusters compared with "normal" clusters, and in conjunction with imaging data for the core of M30 published by Cordoni and Auriere (1984). Finally, the stellar content of the light cusps found in the cores of some globular clusters is examined.
