ESA's Photon-Counting Detector has been used to obtain high-resolution long-slit spectroscopy and images of the Seyfert 2 galaxy NGC 4388. Two optically-emitting regions are found to start at the central bar and extend NE and SW, with the greatest optical emission intensity coming from the latter of the two regions. The noteworthy red-asymmetry of the forbidden O III line profile is confirmed, and explained in terms of five differential and kinematical components forming the forbidden O III emission region with velocity differences of up to 600 km/sec.
