Interferometric gravitational wave detectors are only weakly directional. To determine the direction of a detected gravitational wave burst requires detectors at three locations. For a three-site network, timing information can localize a source to two regions on the sky. A more accurate reconstruction benefits from a VLBI-like coherent combination of the data from all sites. We introduce important concepts in the analysis and some of the strategies considered.
