Several 18-cm and 6-cm MERLIN observations of sub-arcsec structure in the center of Mkn 348 are presented. The radio structure at high frequencies is dominated by an unresolved, highly variable, inverted-spectrum core. Although it is extremely unusual to find such a core in Seyfert galaxies, more normal steep-spectrum emission is also present extending about 50 pc to the north and south. Equipartition calculations indicate that the pressure of the relativistic plasma in the lobes is substantially higher than the thermal pressure in the forbidden-line region of this galaxy, and so the lobes must currently be in a phase of expansion.
