An automatic line identification procedure of IUE high resolution spectra, and its application to the SWP 3582 image of the B2.5 IV star HD 35708 are outlined. The first step is the automatic search for features of the observed spectrum which could be true absorption lines. The second step calculates the central intensities of a list of lines resulting from the compilation of many sources, starting from a model atmosphere interpolated using the Kurucz models. The output of this step is a list of computed lines with a central depth greater than a certain threshold value, chosen in correspondance to that fixed during the first step. The list is compared with that containing the wavelength ranges of the observed features, giving an atlas of observed lines, identified with their main contributors.
