Active Galactic Nuclei were observed simultaneously with EXOSAT, IUE and ground based telescopes in order to determine the overall energy distribution over a wide frequency range. Repeated observations of highly variable objects were used to study correlated variability in different spectral domains. Analyses of repeated observations of the BL Lac object PKS 2155-304 and of the Seyfert Galaxies 3C 120 and MGC 8-11-11 are described. For PKS 2155-304 the soft X ray flux increases by a factor of 5 within a month while a corresponding brightening of 30% is observed in the UV. In 3C 120 a variation of a factor of 2 is observed in the UV on time scales of months, while no simultaneous variation in the X rays is apparent; MGC 8-11-11, steady in the UV, shows a substantial variation in soft X rays, possibly due to variation of the intrinsic absorption cut off.
