The brightness of hypothetical luminous rays caused by the scattering of solar radiation by particles of meteor swarms in the background of zodiacal light is estimated. The difference in the mass distributions of particles in swarms of various types and in the interplanetary dust cloud as a whole is taken into account. It is shown that one can observe only those rays related to very young swarms which, in encountering the earth, are observed as meteor showers.
