We use the small scale measurements of Luminous Red Galaxies (LRGs; Masjedi et al. 2006) from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS; York et al. 2000) to model the galaxy 2-point correlation function, ξ(r), on very small scales (0.016 h ˜1 Mpc ≤ r ≤ 0.66 h˜1 Mpc). We use our model to better understand how galaxies occupy dark matter halos. We show that the radial distribution of LRGs within halos is not consistent with an NFW profile. Instead, we find a denstiy profile which requires a much steeper inner slope to best fit the observed data.
