Two recent observations of SS433 with the X-ray astronomy satellite Ginga, centered at the phases of optical primary minimum revealed new information about the systems binary properties. However, the X-ray and optical data seem to be inconsistent with the standard interpretation of a primary, filling its Roche lobe. Therefore, the question of the nature of the compact object, a neutron star or a black hole, remains open. The analysis of the X-ray data indicates that the precessing jets are rotating retrograde with respect to the orbital binary motion.
