Models for disks around white dwarfs are calculated for two different assumptions on the viscosity parameter alpha(tau). The first one states that alpha should be constant and larger than 0 for all optical depths tau, even in the optically thin photosphere. This leads to the formation of a corona. The second one states that alpha is constant, larger than 0 in optically thick regions only and zero elsewhere. These disks are optically thick at all distances from the white dwarf. For solving the radiation transfer problem the two stream approximation is introduced into accretion disk calculations. The outburst behavior is analyzed, and line profiles are calculated for typical parameters of cataclysmic variables. The results show that only models using the first assumption on alpha tend to predict light-curves as well as line profiles of cataclysmic variables that are in agreement with observations.
