We have undertaken a deep narrow-band survey for Lyman-alpha emitters from z=3.08 to z=3.15 in the Extended Chandra Deep Field-South using the Mosaic camera on the CTIO 4-m telescope. Lyman-alpha emitters are one of the best examples of galaxies "in the act" of formation. Our survey covers 0.28 square degrees down to a limiting line flux of 1.5 x 10^-17 erg/cm^2/s. We have detected 250 LAEs. By combining our narrow-band data with deep archival broadband photometry from MUSYC (Multiwavelength Survey by Yale-Chile) we are able to determine the photometric properties of this sample. We will present both the Lyman-alpha and rest-frame UV luminosity functions of LAEs at z=3 and discuss the evolution of the LAE population from z 2 to z 6 as well as its relationship to the Lyman-break galaxy population. We will also discuss the equivalent widths, LAE colors, star formation rates, and dust properties of these objects.
