We propose a color selection criteria for selecting both star-forming and passively evolving galaxies at z 3 using V-, J- and L-band (IRAC 3.6 µm) photometry in the GOODS south field. The method is similar to the highly successful BzK selection at z 2. Galaxies with J- and L-band S/N>=5 and (J-L)-1.2(V-J)>=0.0 are selected as star-forming galaxies independently of their dust reddening, while those with same S/N but (J-L)>2.5 and (J-L)-1.2(V-J)<0.0 are selected as passively evolving galaxies. We use photometric redshift and specific star formation rate derived from SED fitting to spectral population synthesis models to determine the validity of the criteria. We find that the criteria select star-forming galaxies between 2.0
