In the present paper, experimental data on the spatial distribution of muons with energies greater than 10 GeV in extensive air showers differing in the number of particles at sea level are compared with calculations carried out on the basis of several hadron interaction models. Satisfactory agreement between theory and experiment is established in the case where the value of the mean transverse momentum is equal to 0.4 GeV/sec.
