Measurements employing intercontinental radiointerferometers show that central structures exist in such extragalactic radio sources as galaxies and quasars. These time-variable structures are found to be smaller than 0.001 arcsec. Expansion velocities greater than the speed of light are examined. Attention is given to the expansion velocity equations, a discussion of the Doppler effect and to parabolic reflectors.
