The rotation rate of Vega has been determined by comparing the Fourier transforms of the observed spectra with the transforms of theoretical rotation profiles. It is found that the projected rotation velocity is 23.4 km/sec plus or minus 0.4 km/sec. This value agrees reasonably well with the preliminary value of about 25 km/sec found by Kurucz (1979) from model fitting to the photoelectric Balmer-line measurements.
