New UBV photometry for B and A-type stars within 1 1/2 deg of the 9.84 d Cepheid Beta Dor is combined with spectroscopic data to derive the distance-reddening relation for stars in this region. The inferred color excess of Beta Dor is E(B-V) = 0.07 plus or minus 0.025, in agreement with the value obtained by Dean et al. (1978) using their Cepheid intrinsic color relation.
