A Hubble diagram is constructed for quasars. It is shown that quasars in
whose spectra there are three or more systems of absorption lines are
0.7 m brighter in absolute visual stellar magnitude than quasars with
one or two absorption systems and without absorption lines. An
interpretation of this result is offered.
