The MOJAVE program is currently monitoring 200 AGN jets in the northern sky with the VLBA at 15 GHz, in order to study their parsec scale evolution and polarization properties, and to provide structural information for correlative studies with the Fermi gamma-ray observatory. The sample includes a flux-density limited survey of 135 of the most prominent radio blazars in the northern sky, which according to relativistic beaming statistics, should include the fastest jets in the overall AGN parent population. Our kinematic analysis has identified the fastest jet in the MOJAVE sample to be the quasar PKS B0805-077 (z = 1.387), which displays a feature that has been moving with an apparent projected speed of 47 +/- 1 c since 2004. We discuss the extreme speed of this jet in the context of the overall apparent speed distribution of the full sample, and describe its implications for the bulk Lorentz factor distribution of the overall parent population.
