From observations in the visual, red and near-infrared it has been
found that the star Tr 27-28 has a large infrared excess. Newly
obtained spectra of the star show it to be of spectral type WC9. The
observational results are discussed in terms of a thermal dust shell
of T ≍ 1400° K.
