Recent and upcoming millimeter and sub-millimeter Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) experiments promise to provide unparalleled insight into the structure and dynamics of Sgr A*. Even sparse VLBI data sets, corresponding to a handful of baselines, have significance for the fundamental physics of black holes. In this talk I will briefly review how these observations can be brought to bear upon outstanding problems in black hole astrophysics, including the properties of a hypothetical Radiatively Inefficient Accretion Flow (RIAF) in Sgr A*, the existence of a horizon, the nature of the flaring emission and the prospects for using these to quantitatively probe general relativity.
