A number of recent high-resolution and high-sensitivity radio surveys of the central 100 pc of the Galactic center reveal new details on the structure of the interstellar medium in this region. In particular, high-resolution VLA continuum observations are well-matched for close comparisons with the HST/NICMOS Paschen Alpha Survey. An overview of the correspondences between these two surveys will be presented with a focus on the two scientific issues that radio studies can uniquely address: (1) a wealth of new radio filamentary structures have been identified that are likely to be magnetized and which reveal a complex arrangement of the magnetic field throughout the Galactic center and (2) numerous shell-like and compact radio sources have been discovered, especially in the region between SgrA and SgrC along the Galactic plane, suggesting that massive star activities are present throughout the region. Radio emission can provide important constraints on the ionizing radiation from massive stars as well as the impact of massive star winds on the ISM.
