D Region, E Region, Electron Recombination, Electron-Ion Recombination, Ion Production Rates, Recombination Coefficient, Atmospheric Sounding, Rocket Sounding

Effective electron recombination coefficients are deduced from measured
ion production rates and plasma densities of 29 D-region rocket flights.
The coefficients are grouped according to day and night conditions and
arranged vs. ion production rate. The results are presented and compared
with those from an ion-chemical model.
