The first negative (B2Sigma/+/u - X2Sigma/+/g) system of (N-15)2(+), excited in a hollow-cathode discharge tube, was investigated in the spectral region 3570-5170 A. Of the 15 bands observed, the rotational structure of 12 bands with nu(prime) = 0-2 and nu(double prime) = 0-5 was analyzed. The spin splitting of the rotational lines was observed in several bands, and the intensity alternation in the rotational structure was observed in all the bands. The molecular constants of the two states were obtained by the method of 'merging'. Vibrational constants were obtained by using the band origin data. Molecular constants of the B-X system of (N-15)2(+) are derived. The importance of the electronic spectra of the neutral molecular nitrogen and its ion to the atmospheric and astrophysical phenomena is also briefly outlined.
