We present an analysis and of spectrophotometric data of Burnham's Nebula over the wavelength range 3200 Å < λ < 11000 Å. A critical aspect of the interpretation is the determination and application of reddening corrections. The standard technique has been to derive E(B - V) from the average interstellar curve and a comparison of the infrared/blue [S II] line using the method of Miller (1968), from which the data are corrected for reddening via an adopted extinction curve. We show that it is imperative that the curve used to correct for reddening is also the same curve used to derive E (B - V). This will be especially true for data in the ultraviolet. For example, if the average curve is used to derive E(B - V) and another curve, such as θ Ori, is used to correct for reddening, serious errors can result, particularly when comparisons are made between widely separated wavelength re- gions such as the optical and UV. Through a re-examination of the optical/UV data of HH 2, we show that use of the θ Ori curve to both derive E(B - V) and correct for reddening can resolve most of the discrepancies associated with the normalized and absolute line and continuum fluxes.
