Spatial distribution of vectors connecting Abell cluster pairs is investigated. Using a well-defined statistically complete sample, the distributions of pair separations in the radial and transversal directions are compared. No significant deviation from isotropy is found, in disagreement with some recent reports. Strong elongation in the radial direction is present only for cluster richness class R = 0 which does not constitute a complete sample. It is likely that various selection effects are responsible for the peculiar distribution of R = 0 clusters.
